The Mavericks are sitting down with three incredible people from Insightec to discuss “Exablate Neuro” aka Incisionless Brain Surgery. We are fortunate enough to sit down with Mrs. Katie Davis, Dr. Nandan Lad MD, PhD, and Dr. Stephen Harward II, MD, PHD.

Dr. Nandan Lad is a neurosurgeon, scientist, entrepreneur, Professor, and Vice Chair of Innovation for Duke Neurosurgery. He is the Director of the Functional & Restorative Neuromodulation Program and the Duke NeuroInnovations Program, a systematic approach to innovation to large unmet clinical needs.

Dr. Harward is a neurosurgeon, scientist, and Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Duke University. His practice focuses on surgical treatment for movement disorders (Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and dystonia), epilepsy, chronic pain, spinal cord injury, diabetic neuropathy, and neuropsychiatric disease (OCD and depression). So join us on September 1 at 11 AM MT to learn more about Insightec being the first and only company to bring to market a Focused ultrasound platform for treating medication refractory Essential Tremors and Parkinson’s Disease.

In this episode, we explore the benefits and recovery process of incisionless brain surgery. Dr. Harward provides valuable insights into the candidacy for this procedure, the differences between essential tremors and tremor-dominant Parkinson’s disease, and the future of incisionless brain surgery.
