Hospice is no longer just hospice. The number of hospice companies that solely provide hospice care is dwindling. The objective through much of the industry is to develop new service lines that will create a continuum of care allowing for a long-term relationship with the patient.
The Mavericks sit down with Jim Parker, editor of Hospice News. Mr. Parker shares his insights into the new approaches hospice teams are taking to provide a continuum of care allowing for a long term relationship. Hospice is more than just providing care in someone’s final days.
Mr. Parker began engaging professionally with hospice when he worked at the Joint Commission. Prior, he had a personal experience when he saw the care provided by hospice for seriously ill family members.
