There’s no denying that COVID-19 has taken a toll on everyone’s overall health and wellness, but there’s one nearly 100-year-old Weaverville, North Carolina woman who is continuing to inspire others to stay active.
We’d like to introduce you to Margaret Marrow, a 96-year old member of the fitness franchise, who can tell you her story and why you’re never too old to prioritize health.
Marrow joined the Weaverville Workout Anytime, the 24/7 fitness franchise with 160+ units across the country, after a debilitating leg injury that left her incapacitated for nearly four years. Many women her age fear injuries like this. They tend to cut down on everyday activities, which can make a person weaker and more susceptible to falling. Not Marrow. She powered through the fears and started working out with the goal of getting her leg strength back to 100% post-surgery.
In addition to regaining her strength, she gained a community. Marrow inspires other fitness fanatics in Weaverville, and has created relationships with the Workout Anytime gym staff. She even calls some employees her “boyfriends,” as a sign of thanks for their help and kindness. Marrow has galvanized an entire fitness community with her headstrong, unwavering and inspirational determination.
